| g0ldie 03/27/21 3:38:10 PM #4: | haven't played the first one, but in DOS2, there are six pre-made characters, each with their own storylines and quests, that you can choose to make your main...you can also make custom characters, if you want. two of them are human, one is a lizard, one is a dwarf, one is an elf, and one is an undead. each race has their own special trait/ability, whether it's eating the dead as an elf to see their memories, being able to pick locks with your finger as an undead, etc. but I think the biggest draw is all of the different options you get when it comes to combat, or just straight up avoiding it by finding different routes, talking your way out of it, and so on. like, it's cool to be able to mix water and electrical attacks to get back at a bunch of dudes who ambushed you, but it's also cool to talk to a squirrel (if you unlocked the ability) and have it warn you that there's danger out there. --- ...
