Another day where Im running rather late on certain things (overslept by a lot), but I should have time to get at least the first Steve Reich song.

Bang on a Can All-Stars - 2x5 (2x5: 1. Fast ; 2x5: II. Slow ; 2x5: III. Fast): Feels like itd be good working musiclike, were I to be sitting here and working on a project for a couple hours, this seems like the perfect background music. Compelling enough that I dont mind listening to it, long enough that I dont get distracted by a variety of songs, and not so engrossing that itd pull all my attention away from whatever Im working on.

I rather like the part starting around the 8 minute mark? The jarring shift shortly after the ten minute mark was also noteworthyI figured I wouldnt likely notice where one track ended and the other started, but that was a pretty big shift, so I suspect that has to be the start of II. (There was also one other part later I meant to comment on, but I didnt, and dont really want to go back to find it... somewhere between the 10 and 12 minute mark, I think.)

60 points, well say? Its good and I like it, but its probably a bit too long.

And lets see if I can squeeze in CPUs three latest songs before breaking for the night.

New Found Glory - The Power of Love: A harder rock version of the classic Huey Lewis song. Not bad; I prefer the original, but this version is at a bit of a disadvantagenot quite right to compare something Ive only heard once to a song that Ive known forever. 57 points, with chances of rising up once I get more used to it and stop comparing it to the original.

Valley Swerve - Mindless Game Deathtrap: The haunting and ominous intro of the first 7 seconds was fantastic. The song also covers a lot of ground in its brief (less than a minute-thirty) runtime. 58 points, would like to listen to other songs on this album latersince the entire album is only 17 minutes long, I suspect Ill wind up listening to the whole thing eventually. Certainly not much of a time commitment to do so.

HKE - Moon Ritual: 50 points. Im afraid it never left much of an impression.

HKE - Pondlife: I didnt hit the stop button quick enough after the last song ended and the opening notes of this were interesting enough to let it play, so heres an extra song: Marked improvement over the last one. Chirping bird (or bird-like) sounds are interesting and I kinda like what its doing here. 59 points?
