i think the comment that got you looking into steve reich was me referring stuff a bit more in this vein, when i compared the angel beats song to him:

honestly i never would've expected you specifically to like him, but more it was just what that angel beats song reminded me of, was very clearly a reference to his style. reich is definitely about having repetition (taken to an extreme) but a lot more strange, rhythmically complex and heavily layered repetition than you'd get from like the kinda dance music you don't like i guess. but because of that repetition focus i wouldn't have ever imagined you into him.

he's one of my favorite artists of all time and influential to me to the point i'd say i would barely be even close to as interested in music as i am now if it weren't for his music. but definitely someone who's difficult to recommend to people because of the extreme length and repetition in his stuff. regardless music by him or music influenced by him is typically some of my favorite ever
