Coincidentally enough I know how Id react in this exact situation, and it's exactly the same as her. I just live with my dog and my instinct was to get him away from the window. Like other dude said, the damage would of already been done anyway. You're really just hiding to collect yourself and work out what just happened. It's a safety measure at that point.
