#257:

I dont think so... its something about the environment specifically, not anyone or anything in the environment. Particularly those red and white tentsfor... some reason. Im pretty sure Ive never been to a circus before, but I get rather twitchy around the idea.

Considering how often circuses are a setting for events in games, cartoons, and shows theres probably some stupid pop culture thing thats lodged in my subconscious and skewing my perspective. Though still no real ideas what or why.

Lets finish the last three songs from Sempiternals Deluxe Edition:

BMtH - Join The Club: 57 points. A bit too intense for me and not something Im looking for right now, but its fairly catchy and along the lines of several other BMtH songs that I do love.

BMtH - Chasing Rainbows: 54 points. Its...nice, but Im not crazy about it and dont really see any lyrics Im especially drawn to.

BMtH - Deathbeds: 56.66 points; very good song that I have no connection to, appreciate hearing it though.

I really should listen to the Pathologic 2 OST now, but Im just not in the mood for Dark Adventure right now and Im trying to save that for when I do want to listen to it, to give it the best chance of getting high scores... you know, I think Im going to take a quick glance at how The Dear Hunters Act III album opens; probably too serious, dealing with the Great War and all, but I want different and theyre different.

...not a different I typically like on a first listen, granted, but work with me here. (And since Iceman will probably nominate Act IV, or something from Act IV at least, it makes far more sense to go backwards an act rather than jumping the gun and doing Act IV now.

...why not Act I? would be a good question...)

The Dear Hunter - Writing on a Wall: Short interlude that leads directly into the next song, not really capable of standing on its own, but not actually bad. Somewhere in the 50 point range, though its a bit of a dud nomination by itself.

The Dear Hunter - In Cauda Venenum: This feels like big band metal which is an odd combination that Im not immediately fond of, but does certainly qualify as different enough that it cant get less than 51 points. Probably a bit more than that, but not much more (though again, this is one of those bands where songs often jump several hundred placements after I adjust to them, so take first impressions with a heavier grain of salt than listen.)

....and dont even get me started on the Hawaiian-esque outro...

The Dear Hunter - What It Means To Be Alone: Yeah, not a fan here. Like 49.99 pointsI certainly cant say I dislike it, but... well I liked the outro at least.

The Dear Hunter - The Tank: I do kinda like the lyrics, not as sold on the actual song. 51 points, reasonable odds of moving up on a re-listen.

Take a break from that for now, finish with some amount of Vtuber songs:

Enma Ruri - Telecaster B-Boy: Nothing about this song or the lyrics feels familiar in the least... I dont have any problem with her design (though again, Im trying not to factor videos in), but I just...dont like this song. 38 points.

Asano Akane - Shinobi Shinobazu High Tension: 56.9799426.

...I dont know why such a very precise number, but Cute Ninja feels like exactly that number of points.
