For me it's a mix of two things:
  1. The AAA market is deeply creative, and, I need a super creative setting/mechanics/story to get me interested in it. Something looking photorealistic isn't interesting to me anymore. It's why I just sorta dropped cyberpunk 2077 when I realized that it was just GTA with neon lights, all of the creative parts of punk seemed to be pulled out.
  2. I don't really pay that much attention to the Greater Gaming Sphere, so I don't hear about cool indie games, or weird nuggets that someone's super invested in. I just sorta dropped off of it, and nothing, aside from, like Hades, has pulled me in, and even that was Pretty Good, Not The Best.
Without the reason why I like games, I just sorta got ignored.

People aren't making RTS games, the strategy games are factory building games, and the story games are interpersonal explorations. The games that were just people hanging out and playing something mindless, aren't super obvious anymore, like, that fucking pirate game everyone was into is awful. People playing Fall Guys, and Among Us, to play with their friends are awful games. I'm seeing people play uno more and more on twitch, there's something wrong with what's being provided.
