Going to finish the BMTH album tonight:

BMTH - [...its probably fine, but the song title is technically a censor bypass and I dont feel like risking the moderation right now.]: The first low point of the album. Its not bad, but i feel everything in this song has been done better on other songs by the bandthe chorus in particular draws a lot of comparisons to Happy Song, but... well this is no Happy Song, to put it mildly. 51 points; at least it had some light blasphemy.

BMTH - why you gotta kick me when im down: Good song. Its got those very low tones that I always enjoy and its strangely reminiscent of one of Murphiroths nominations last year... i cant remember the title, but Im sure it was one of his, a Japanese metal song dealing with fans that were offended [band member] wasnt literally killing himself anymore.

Maximum the Hormone - Lets Talk About Menkata Cottelee. Rather similar subject matter here. Dont feel like giving it a score right now, but I definitely liked it.

BMTH - fresh bruises: Definitely an unexpected track. It has a rather strong and bizarre opening, but the song only repeats the same two lines endlessly and my distaste for that sort of repetitiveness is well documented. Leaning exactly 50 points here? Different and unexpected enough that I cant say i disliked it, but its also not really for me.

BMTH - mother tongue: Hey, its that song I listened to a cover of earlier! Thats convenient. This feels like their poppiest song yet and it repeats the chorus far too many times, but its pretty nice. Going back to the Messgram cover of the song though, Im pretty sure I prefer their version over this original... so this is probably somewhere in the 60 point range, though less than Messgrams.

BMTH - heavy metal (feat. Rahzel): Did we really need two songs on the same album attacking fans who wont support the bands changing sound? This is fine, but it feels a tad redundant after why you gotta kick me when Im down? and the chorus repeats itself a bit too much and... well, I like it somewhat, but not all that much. Somewhere between 50 and 60 points.

BMTH - i dont know what to say: 57 points. Instrumentals go on a bit longer than Id like, but its fine.

Pretty good album, though it was a bit front-loaded; pretty sure all my favorites were in the first half of the album, which isnt a bad thing, but... I dont know where Im going with this.

Either way, enjoyed listening to it, looking forward to trying other albums later.
