As years progress, there's going to be more people who know and care about the racism behind it all and won't pick it up off of shelves because it's weird and a racist relic. So it not having the same brand identification might hurt too, sure, but they're just in a bad place either way. Would they really, though? Before this was even mentioned, most people apparently thought she was the CEO of the company. When the brand first talked about changing, people on Twitter were actually mad that they were trying to take her legacy away or whatever. And it was really only racist if you looked at it that way. Like when I saw Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben, my first thought wasnt racist names that used for black people. I thought family members, tbh... Which makes sense. I dont know if it would have actually been bad for them if they never made the attempt to change when they did.
