But yeah volume is low because I assume most traders share my sentiment about buying a heavily in the money stock that only costs $3 to begin with. Even on low volume though the bid won't go below the break even. So if it went up to say $3.50 you could easily exit by selling at the bid which would be $1.50 minimum-- and it'd probably be a bit higher than that, what you end up getting.
