A rich and long history of 12 years, the first 4 of those years it was barely even acknowledged as a thing that existed. Impressive. Will definitely survive forever with that lifespan.

"Why hasn't it" would boil down to this currency is basically infantile in the lifespan of currencies, particularly given it's based more in technology than currency, really. If the only argument is that it hasn't been replaced as the most widely used in its field in 12 years so it must be the best thats a really bad argument. Imagine claiming like Fortran will be the most used programming language forever because it was leading in its field for the 1960s.
