I mean, yes, Bernie Sanders is the chair of the budget committee. But graded on the "whoever the hell WV is going to send to the senate" curve, we could do significantly worse. And unlike someone like Doug Jones, Manchin's career isn't necessarily over in 2024. I wouldn't say he's safe but he at least has a chance which Doug Jones never did. I will not defend Manchin's actions on...like anything.
