| Topic | DOOM eternal "kind of a let down" |
| banananor 01/23/21 1:31:24 AM #31: | i loved doom 2016, but i've held off on grabbing eternal based on some gameplay clips i've seen. 2016 captured lightning in a bottle and it'll be hard to nail the landing a second time first: one of the greatest things about doom 2016 was symbolized in the opening cutscene- that the main character literally punched the plot dispenser and jumped right into gameplay. i've been made aware that eternal has a healthy dose of cutscene two: there are a bazillion little icons/resources on the HUD indicating gameplay subsystems that probably aren't necessary three: when you're hit it flashes weird icons, presumably depending on the type of damage (i guess if a dog attacks you it shows claws or a wolf face idk) i shouldn't be a downer, i'll be picking it up for sure in a few years! --- You did indeed stab me in the back.
