| andylt 01/21/21 6:51:36 PM #23: | I liked RE7 a lot, largely because it stripped things down to the basics. Despite being a new style of RE it had better horror vibes than anything the series had done in years, and I definitely felt major Silent Hill inspiration earlier on (though it did drop in quality in the back half). Also I like Chris, Claire, Leon, Jill etc but they don't really belong in horror games anymore imo, they're far too experienced and knowledgeable. Save them for the more action-based games. VIIIage seems to go harder on the camp that the series has become known for, I'm fine with that but hope it still feels like a survival horror. The best part of 7 was the tight enclosed space, this looks like it could get much broader. We shall see! --- Slowly becoming a Final Fantasy aficionado.
