Is that why, for instance, African borders have absolutely no respect to languages, tribes, or cultures when they were created, leading to wars and other conflicts?

Multiculturalism was never a positive virtue. No matter who you are or where you came from, the best way for a nation to survive is to assimilate.

That has absolutely nothing to do with anything I said. It's a decent case against having colonists draw arbitrary borders and then continuing to enforce them after leaving because the colony isn't profitable anymore, which is the reason all of those borders care so little for native cultures. That's not bringing immigrants into a country, though. That's trying to impose a country on people who were already living there and have never drawn such borders.

Name me one instance where cultures within one nation that segregated themselves from other cultures have created any form of unity.

That's really not how immigration works. You don't get complete segregation unless the native population insists on it (which is a racism problem, not an immigration one). You get immigrants preferentially hanging around with those of similar backgrounds, largely due to the convenience of not having a language barrier, but that doesn't mean their everyday lives aren't influenced by the cultures of the country around them, especially over time.

You seem very keen on this concept of "assimilating to American values," but I've yet to see you elaborate on it. What, exactly, does that mean?
