Topic | SAT to drop 'Essay' and 'Subject' portions on Test... |

The grading of the essay is not at all based on your opinion, it's not even graded based on the subject-matter of the essay. ...the fact that it has criteria doesn't remove the possibility for bias. The essays were *individually* read by hired readers and ultimately leaves at least some scoring elements in their hands, unlike the rest of the test. And even your listed criteria leaves a LOT of open room. I imagine that there's a set of criteria given to proctors to limit things a lot more than that, but regardless it won't and can't exclude the readers' biases. ParanoidObsessive posted... I don't know about most people. Any PotDer in their 20s would have theoretically taken it when the essays were part of it, and we've still got quite a few of those. That would suggest Gamefaqs was still getting new posters recently >_> --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ...
