After taking on the Hawk persona, he started being a complete asshole bully to Dimitri. I'm wondering what show you watched. Hawk was still his friend when Miguel won the tournament in spite of Demetri repeatedly belittling Cobra Kai and Hawk. As people were cheering on his friend at the tournament he kept moaning about how his real name is Eli. Demetri was anything but a good friend, in fact he hated watching his friend gain confidence and happiness. Despite multiple attempts to drag Hawk back down he was willing to let it go until Demetri wrote the negative review of Cobra Kai, which was one attack on Hawk too many. Demetri was a little shit that kept escalating things. The way Hawk responded was terrible, but Demetri used their friendship against him.
