It's hard to escape the perception that fighting for higher minimum wage takes priority because of what I claimed: people would rather jobs they prefer due to low skill requirements pay better than try to get a job with high skill requirements. If anything, stop and think it through: who at age 6 dreamed of bagging groceries or counter working at fast food? Why fight to keep yourself or others in those kind of work more than addressing barriers keeping even our better educated in those jobs?

My own guess is that while they are not necessarily easier jobs, they don't have the skill barrier to entry, and outside of a bad Karen experience, less pressure to be perfect in them at all times. ie: Doctors have to know a lot of shit and be right in their decisions as much as possible or risk getting sued. The jobs at 7-11 are easier to learn to do, and are far less vital to get perfect. As I joke, your don't even really have to make proper change much anymore.
