Sorry, typo on azuarcs remaining songs after Dance With You; that was song number 4/28, leaving three songs remaining.

And lets have a few extra late night eliminations while were here:

45: BRING ME THE HORIZON - TRUE FRIENDS:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DewB4khYnEY&list=PL1djAjAZEwIaB0KaDGDu8uF99OV2Q4FA4&index=10

Nominator: @BlackDra90n (4/21)
Source: Live at Royal Albert Hall (4/14)

Initial Score: 70.01 [#136]
Revised Score: 74.93 [#162]

[NOTE: This song was also moved up to the 90 point tier after the Revised Scores were finalized, but before the topic actually started.]

Final Score: 96.25 [#45]

(First Thoughts:

Song lyrics...
Ill forget, but Ill never forgive you.

The singer said...
Its about letting those people know that I can forgive, but Ill never forget.

...Youre not very good at this, are ya, mate?)

Putting aside the singer saying the exact opposite message he intended to... this is another good song from the band, but not one I really need right now. Not looking for angry breakup songs at the moment, so I dont have any personal connection to the song; it also repeats the chorus a bit too often, making the song feel a bit tedious towards the end of the track.

That the song still gets such a high placement is a testament to how good this band really is.

[Sometime later; after Phase 2 ended, but before the ranking started:

Ohh, just listen to that intro. The way the orchestra starts off sad, but gradually builds up to anger. It really tells so much of the story before he even sings a word and this is another song that keeps getting stuck in my head.... I cant let this get less than 90 points, so lets just move it up now.]

[Final Thoughts: Im in the mood for a more bitter and angry song to compliment some of the sad songs, so this gets moved up slightly.]

44: ENIGMA - RETURN TO INNOCENCE (RADIO EDIT):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk_sAHh9s08

Nominator: Djungelurban (3/15)

Initial Score: 82.33 [#36]
Revised Score: 99.49 [#24]
Final Score: 96.50 [#44]

(First Thoughts: I feel like the chant from this song was used in a lot of commercials, wasnt it? Its incredibly memorable, but Im sure Ive never heard this song (or at least not the full version), which would seem to imply commercials... either way, great song all around.)

I see that it was used to promote several types of media, but nothing specific...

*some light Googling later*

Ohh, the Pure Moods commercial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZJSjrox_2s

That opens with the chanting and I feel like I saw this infomercial a hundred times. Reading the comments, I see Im not the only one, so that certainly explains things nicely.

Absolutely fantastic song and strangely nostalgic for something Id only heard a few seconds of, so thanks for that. I should check out the other Enigma song they play for about four seconds at the end of the commercial, it sounds interesting.

...I should also make time to listen to the full Return to Innocence at some point, though Im pretty sure thats just going to be way too long for what the song is.

[Final Thoughts: A fantastic song that was rather close to getting moved up to the highest tier, but I find there are some other songs here at the 90 point tier that I prefer which makes that rather impossible. Oh well, its still great.]

43: BRING ME THE HORIZON - DROWN:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhNKUINUh2g&list=PL1djAjAZEwIaB0KaDGDu8uF99OV2Q4FA4&index=13

Nominator: @BlackDra90n (3/21)
Source: Live at Royal Albert Hall (3/14)

Initial Score: 73.08 [#84]
Revised Score: 91.99 [#54]
Final Score: 96.55 [#43]

(First Thoughts: Something came up immediately after this song ended and its now been half an hour since I listened to it, so thoughts will have to wait. This seems to be a good score, so I must have liked it.)

A literal cry for help, begging someone to save him from himself. The lyrics are, as usual for this band, right at that point of darkly depressing without going too far. Lines about holes in his soul, wishing he was dead, and begging for help... theres not much else you can do without making the song completely miserable to experience.

But I find I prefer other songs from this concert, both in terms of song quality and lyrical content. Obviously this is a fine, very high-scoring song, but it doesnt quite compare to the best songs from the album/concert/however you wish me to refer to it.

[Final Thoughts: Great song.]
