| Bartzyx 01/05/21 11:27:30 AM #177: | #91 God of War: Ghost of Sparta (Playstation 3, 2011) Ghost of Sparta probably would have been the best God of War game if it had not originally been a PSP release. Still, it looks pretty good and plays well. Despite the technical limitations, the game manages to have some nice setpiece moments and entertaining boss fights. The PS3 version upscales nicely and runs smoothly. The lack of enemy hordes onscreen simultaneously is usually compensated for by making most of the environments more intimate. It takes place between the first two games and explores Kratos's predictably tragic childhood and family. So although it's all Greek mythological nonsense, this is really the only game in the original God of War series with any emotional resonance at all. In a series that features a wholly despicable cast, that's an accomplishment. --- At least your mother tipped well ... Copied to Clipboard! |
