(First Thoughts: Pretty solid track. I like how harsh the instruments in the background sound.)

The instrumentation is still quality, but looking back, if I have nothing positive to say about the singing or the lyrics then I dont think I actually liked the song much. The repeated refrains of I cant go on living alone now that youre gone just makes this feel like any typical breakup song...

...well I do like a lot of breakup songs (actually, most of what Ive been listening to lately falls into that category), so that cant be it. Something about this song bothers me though and I actively dont want to listen to it tonight. Still, I like the backing music and kinda wish this were an instrumental.

[Not-Quite-Final Thoughts: I still cant figure out why this song had such a very high score to start with, nor why I was bothered by it the second time. At least Im back to slightly liking it at least? Going to try the early-to-mid 50s.]

[Still Not Final: Ehh... low 60s for this, probably? It hits a different tier every time I listen to it and I dont know how to properly reflect that.]

[Final Thoughts: High 60s. Im back to liking it almost as much as the first time around.]

240: THE WEEKND - THE KNOWING:

(First Thoughts: I actually kinda like this one. I shouldnt, considering literally everything about it, but this... at least proves that some music on this album isnt bad.)

Per usual, the lyrics still are not for me, but there arent any specific lyrics here that I actively hate. It makes it much easier to get drawn into how powerful his vocal performance is and actually really like this song.

Though... yeah, youd have to change both verses of the song to get this into I love it territory. Still, quite a good song, especially considering the album it came from.

[Final Thoughts: A side-effect of me learning to like so many other songs on the album is that now I kinda like this one less by comparison. I obviously still like it and it was probably one of the easier songs on the album to get into, but Im not as wild about it as I was the second time around.

...Though still more into it than the first time.]

This marks the start of another sub-tier; I kinda feel like the 68.00~68.99 songs are a decided step above those below them, with the 69 point songs being another sub-tier above that... but again not a very good way of illustrating that with current tiers... so its more a symbolic thing than an actual tier...
