At the moment, I'm doing really well. The hear has been a whirlwind though full of ups and downs.
-Wife got pregnant in January -Job became work from home in march -Was laid off from job in April (like a week after getting a raise too) -Lease was up at the end April and couldn't extend lease. -Decided to move back to oregon; used savings to buy farm -moved into short term rental because farm needed a place to live -Spent a couple months rebuilding a run down old house into our new family home -During this time, rescued a kitten -during my home rebuilding process, wife built a gigantic garden, and we fixed up an old chicken coop to have chickens and quail -in roughly June, we were able to move onto our farm -End of July got a new job; Fully remote -Kitten passed away :( -In September, giant wildfires ravaged the area. Came only 3 miles away from the farm. -Daughter was born in October -Spent October and November and the start of December fairly sleep deprived due to baby -End of December, finally starting to feel like I'm getting a break.
Damn, you had an eventful year. Sorry about your kitten. :( Congrats on having a daughter! Eventually I want a little girl too. Maybe in a couple of years.
