I was under the impression that there was a possibility that the reason it spread so rapidly in the UK was due to a superspreader event(s), and it wasn't 100% clear it was the virus itself, as the variant doesn't seem to be spreading rapidly anywhere else it's been found. Have scientists confirmed that the virulence is due to the variant itself and I missed it, because the media seems to be reporting this as if it is established fact. --- Congrats on Advokaiser for winning the 2018 Guru Contest!
