He put up a fundraiser to help pay for legal fees to fight against Billy's SLAPP suits, and his viewers reached his goals pretty easily. But later on it was revealed that they settled out of court, and most of that money went into Billy's hands so that he can serve SLAPP suits against a bunch of other people. He probably could've been more transparent, but could be that he was legally not allowed to talk about it so openly, dunno.
