Nothing made me happier than watching the Rays lose the world series because "analytics says to pull Blake Snell in the sixth inning because oh no he might see the batting order three times". Those laughable morons got EXACTLY what they deserved and Dodgers were literally laughing at them in postgame interviews.

Epstein won two World Series with the Red Sox and one with the Cubs using analytics. Also, whether or not it's successful is irrelevant to what led the NBA to the threes and layups playstyle. The Rockets under Morey were the most extreme example of this because they used analytics, not because Harden grew up playing NBA Jam
