Not every change is a good change
Some people want to keep using stuff they are familiar with and hate change

And who the fuck are you to tell them it's wrong?
Like there is the "Harry Styles" fiasco, and people go all "clothes don't have genders" and call for "everyone can wear everything they want"
Which is fine

But wishing for social norms to be like they were and dress codes is "not fine"? yeah, way to go. Who do you think you are the write the narrative?

Im no one, Im not making a value judgement in my post about whether any of this is good or bad, Im just saying its done. The guy arguing about singular they is like the Japanese soldier on some island in 1950 who still thinks the war is happening.

but heres what Ill say to your point.

yes. The first group of people is saying do what you want, the second group wants to control other peoples behavior which isnt their business.

Dont like change? Great, dont change. No ones making you put on a dress.

Men used to wear suits all the time, now were super casual. Women couldnt wear pants, now they can. Some people probably complained for way too long when people stopped wearing powdered wigs. whens the last time you saw a powdered wig?

history has shown that youre not actually going to stop the change, so you may as well get over it now.
