(First Thoughts: Not a very engaging song, but not bad.)

I think I ran out of things to say about The Weeknd a while ago. Here we have yet another song with sex and cheating that Im not really able to care about, but theres a decided lack of drugs or anything explicit, so I dont have a very negative reaction to it either.

Like so many of his songs that didnt get ludicrously low scores, hes got a good voice, which is almost enough for me to be able to say I like this without hesitation... but its not quite there.

[Final Thoughts: I really dont have any complaints about the song. Its performed well, I like the backing music, no issue with the lyrics, its a perfectly good song. I just dont like it enough for the next tier.]

(First Thoughts: I mean, its an impressive song and all, but Im not really into it. Its just exhausting.)

I feel like this should be my most controversial drop because symphonic metal usually does decently with me and I know this is a popular group and that this is supposed to be their best song, but I just dont fully get the appeal? Its well designed and well performed, but also so exhausting that I dont know Id ever choose to listen to it.

Good enough that my feelings are generally positive, but I cant bring myself to keep it at the I like this tier because... Im really just not that into it.

[Final Thoughts: Probably the most objectively great song Ive cut so far, but... my standards for 60 point songs are too high this time around for this song to get that far (and objective quality doesnt really matter to me).

...also, for the first time, this video decided to pause in the middle to play an unskippable ad. It did not do that the first two timestheres one song to come that more consistently does that (I vaguely referred to it in the nomination topic), but itll be a while before we get to it...Im not removing any points for that, as its not the songs fault that YouTube wants to be a bit overzealous with the ads, but it was still a tad annoying.]

(First Thoughts: If it were actually about Metal Gear or if Whats dead can never die was literally about him fighting the undead, itd probably score higher.)

Its another song that comes close, but never fully hits the mark. The Metal Gear inspired part at the opening is neat, but not really fantastic. The lyrics, seemingly dealing with a part of yourself that you can never get rid of, are very close to getting high marks, but... as usual with the high 50s, something feels just slightly off, that I cant quite place.

[Final Thoughts: And with this elimination, at least one song from every album & nominator list has dropped.]
