I think I hit the jackpot. I got suspended and my hours cut at my crappy fast food job because of a little incident with a customer (story below if youre curious). Almost immediately after that though I got a call asking if I wanted a job with the state. I got an interview and hired quickly so I was able to quit the shitty fast food job, and whats even better is that half my time at work is spent playing games on my phone :D
As for the incident, there was a rather rude customer. I took his order, and when I was in the middle of taking the next customers order, he comes up to the counter and says Eh, I like some water. So I politely told him that I would get him a cup after I finished helping the person in front. The normal reaction to this, obviously, is to yell and swear, and ask for my manager, being the male Karen that he was. And given that managers have to bend over and spread their cheeks for customers, he apologized profusely to that asswipe. Then said asswipe demanded an apology from me. But that was the past straw, so I refused. My manager took me to the back and asked me nicely to apologize, but I just couldnt give in. It was sad since the manager was really nice, but I just couldnt compromise with a customer like that.
tl;dr I refused to apologize to a major jackass of a customer
The customer was right though. It woulda took 2 seconds to grab a cup
