Rogan's average download per podcast were around 10 million. His YouTube channel would get around 4-10 million hits, maybe even more depending on the episode. Potentially cutting out 30-50% of your audience would qualify as incompetence imo. Obviously there could be some overlap, but it's unacceptable if it's even as low as 5-10% of the audience

I'm saying there's an absolutely 0% chance that the people who's profession it is to analyse these markets at an extremely granular level of detail would have missed this immediately obvious point that you just tossed an armchair football at.

Not meaning that offensively. I used to work in marketing and you would not believe the amount of metrics they go into for things like this. So I just think it's a lot more likely that there's a very profound contractual or strategic reason why they didn't expand into video content.

One point I would make is that they rarely just look at an audience in terms of size and think "yeah we need all those people, that's sure to work". if that kind of thinking worked, then instagram thots would actually have a profitable business model.
