Well actually sure you can, if you use a little bit of nuance and consider the actual reason why someone would get mad at white people playing black roles, and not just stop there and disengage further thinking If you think race doesnt matter, best actor should get the part (like I do), then theres no issue with this. You're right, however we don't live in that reality where race doesn't matter, nor do we live in that timeline where race never mattered, so unfortunately here we are.
