You are applying "authority" to anything you see fit. Doctors!!! They are authority. Doctors carry much less authority than politicians, as can be evidenced by the varying responses to COVID.

I agree with you and Carl Sagan that we should not trust authority, but should trust the respective experts in their fields.

Is this lady an 'expert' or is she 'authority'? I would consider her an expert.
