...As an aside, if you see any Question Marks in place of numbers (see song #537), it just means I forgot to insert the proper number. Since songs keep moving around the list, I leave everything as question marks until they have (what is presumed to be) a final value.

...And naturally sometimes I forget to actually put numbers in. Again, advanced apologies for how many times thats inevitably going to happen.

534: THE EIGHTFOLD ROAD - A SETTLEMENT IN THE RED BLUFFS:

https://familyjules7x.bandcamp.com/track/a-settlement-in-the-red-bluffs

Nominator: The Mighty KELP (30/32)

Initial Score: 34.29 [#528]
Revised Score: 42.84 [#506]
Final Score: 43.55 [#534]

(First Thoughts: Dull and repetitive.)

Ive listened to this song three times in a row trying to find something to say about it (I hate these contentless writeups as much as you do), but this song inspires nothing in the way of reactions.

So lets go the almost exact opposite of this song and talk about Placido Domingo for a minute:

Why Do All The Good Times Go Away:

Not the best song on the album (that would be A Love Until the End of Time), but its one of the better songs from it. Its from a very brief period of time where Placido Domingo was releasing songs in English, in a rather...pop music type way. As such this doesnt really show off his full vocal range and its certainly not the most complicated song lyrically, but its the type of thing I want to be listening to & I have a lot of nostalgia for this album in particular, so Ive been listening to the song quite a bit lately.

[Later: It is astounding how little impression this song leaves, as I have no recollection of ever hearing it before. Its one of those songs that vanish entirely from memory the second it ends.]

[Final Thoughts: This still feels like a completely new song to me, but still not an interesting one.

...I mean, its so uninteresting that its mildly interesting how it can be so uninteresting, but if I go any further down that train of thought, Im just going to get stuck in an infinite loop.]

533: PSO2 - METAMORPHOSIS TO ESCA FALZ:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU0dMT2rsMc&list=PLeKaE-gusMmaq2FecWApCcMOVGJblcdrD&index=15

Nominator: NFUN (32/37)

Initial Score: 36.27 [#520]
Revised Score: 43.50 [#500]
Final Score: 43.60 [#533]

(First Thoughts: A fairly dull song that doesnt seem to go anywhere.)

Another song that has a dramatic opening that gets me hyped up and then the song never really does anything. We get an intense look at the POWER of this final bosss ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION opening and then...uhhh...some background music that isnt as dramatic or epic as it seems to think it is, which drags on aimlessly for four minutes.

Also this isnt related to the song itself, but I just cant adjust to the Falz naming. I grew up with Dark Force and that just sounds so much more natural than Dark Falz; I know Force is wrong, but when youve spent your entire life saying Force the change just feels....wrong.

[Final Thoughts: Thats overly harsh, but I cant think of much I want to say about it right now. Its at least a full song, unlike Eclipse which was just an intro?]
