91 years old. She had such an amazing life. 6 kids, 14 grandkids, 13 great grandkids (number 14 on the way). Built an entire legacy by investing all of my grandpas money in properties in her home country and running everything herself. An amazing achievement for a woman in the Middle East of that time, especially with no formal education of her own. She was that grandma who insisted on cooking nonstop and cleaning for you even though she had a hip replacement and refused to ever sit down no matter how much you told her to stop. She paid tuition for 3 of my cousins when their parents had financial issues. We all saw her as the head of our family and jokingly called her the don. She cared about every single of one us.

My mom suffered from severe mental health issues after her and my dad divorced. It resulted in her being verbally and physically abusive with my sister and I (mostly with me). My grandma came to stay with us for a few years and she literally would protect us from my mom and get her to cut that shit out. She stood up for us every time she could and was more motherly towards us than our mom.

Her health was really strong for her age until she started suffering from dementia these last few months. She wasnt herself anymore and its been a long struggle. I miss her terribly but Im glad shes no longer suffering. RIP grandma.
