Don't think I'll do any predictions, but I'll be following this to see thoughts on game names I recognize!

I appreciate comments like this, even if nobody's talking about the games themselves, because at least it lets me feel like I'm not just talking into the void.

Boy, was I not expecting to drop this here.

I played Dishonored 2 in December, and got super into it. (List spoilers!) I thought it was such a great game, I figured Id dip back for the original, and while DH might have been a great game in 2012, eight years later and after Id been ruined on a highly-improved sequel, I simply could not get into it. The controls were more finicky, the story felt less refined, and I always had the sense that I was playing a game that was on par with two-decade-old PC games like Half-Life or Mafia. It simply did not feel like a game that would have had heaps of awards bestowed upon it some time far more recently. At the very least, it hasnt aged well.

So while I can see how Dishonored 2 was borne out of this original product, and I do think the worldbuilding put into place to create Dunwall was interesting, after a couple hours slogging through the intro and then trying to complete the first mission without dumbing down the difficulty, I was just extremely disappointed and moved on.

Should you play it?: Id go straight to the sequel, unless youre really interested in experiencing the lore.

Next: A legit board game
