This should probably be below Shapez, but Im being lazy in breaking ties at this point.

A Day in the Woods not to be confused with Night in the Woods is a cell phone game brought to PC. It has an Angry Birds-esque rating system where you can earn up to 3 stars per level, and need a certain number of them collectively to advance. However, beyond the menu interface, thats about the end of the comparison.

The premise of Day in the Woods is that you control Little Red Riding Hood, trying to move her to Grandmas house, while avoiding wolves, in as few moves as possible across a hex map that plays like one of those sliding number puzzles. The stylized art reminds me of somewhere between old Claymation movies and parents doing school projects for their kids. The puzzles themselves arent super exciting, as the game gradually adds new mechanics, like tiles that have a collectible or tiles that wolves cant move next to, or tiles that distract wolves so Red can move right past them. It was cute, and I could see how someone could get into it, but like most of the titles that are floating around the bottom of the list, this one didnt really grab me in a way that merited coming back for it.

Should you play it?: If youre bored on long train rides, sure.

Next: Another itch.io game
