People aren't bound to their land, this isn't a fiefdom and people aren't serfs. And somebody being in their home town or not has zero bearing on the facts in a case. CyrusV posted... Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Dumbass thought he was some sort of wild west cowboy. He was being chased by a group intending to do him bodily harm -- including one guy who pulled a gun on him -- who then ran in to attack him while he was on the ground. People have made up excuses for the mob ambushing a teenager (because other mob members shouted out false claims to incite others to attack him), but if they legitimately believed he had done something illegal they could have had any of the hundreds of cops there grab him. Had he not shot at his attackers, it's possible that he would have been killed before the cops even noticed what was happening. People were jumping at him (while he was on the ground) when he opened fire and the guy with the handgun, after initially being startled by the shot, moved in with his handgun before being shot in the shoulder. It's a little hard to tell from the video, but it also looks like every person he shot (excluding the handgun guy who pointed a gun at him) touched him first.
