The christmas videogame boon isn't something to ignore, it does a /lot/. It's also worth remembering that videogame companies tend to go into a low-population while designing the broad elements, and when it gets closer to when it's close to publishing, they pull a bunch of people in to finish it. Videogame companies don't have serious operating costs for just existing, it's all about the people who work there and their salary. When they bring a bunch of people in, their operating costs skyrocket because of that, so, they try and move things along faster.
