Dude, is that really your defense? You randomly brought up an entirely cosmetic feature with zero impact on gameplay to look progressive (actually, I *hope* you were just doing it to look progressive, because the alternative is way, way worse... well, one of the alternatives, I suppose). Now you're backing up and trying to deny that the intent was something progressive.

While I also happen to feel that Crystal was an improvement over GS, of the countless improvements offered by the game nowhere near the top of that list would I include "because you can play as a girl." That's just a weird virtue signal. Crystal had additional story elements, which was cool. It had fixed encounters with Suicune so you weren't just stuck chasing it to try to catch it. It introduced the Battle Tower, which was a fucking major thing. But rather than mention any of this, you just hold up the fact that you have the choice of playing as a female character. That decision is in itself conspicuous. That kind of a change might matter to somebody who identifies as a woman (even though players routinely play games with characters who aren't their identified sex/gender), but it stands out coming from anybody else ESPECIALLY in light of the other things.

Okay, so the parody topic "seemed" agenda-driven to you. There's actually nothing to objectively give that indication though. Thus, what "seems" entirely comes from you. Or, in other words, a projection. If you look for agendas you're going to find them, even if they're not there. What "seems" in your subjective reality is not objective truth. And given my admission it was a parody? That was nothing I ever hid or denied, so I'm not sure what exactly I am "admitting" or how it being a parody topic proves it has some sort of agenda? And again, what would my agenda be? Am I part of some vague leftist conspiracy to brainwash the PotD message board with Marxist indoctrination through obscure parody topics and mentions of decade old Pokemon features? "Knowing better"? What are you on about? As if asking a question somehow means I am pushing a particular answer or mode of thinking? It almost seems as if you'd rather certain questions just not be asked in general, which is a bit strange. Why does the question itself bother you? And again, I explained to you my exact motivations behind creating said topic. I was curious to see the demographics after a claim was made by another poster. But feel free to ignore that, again.

I didn't "randomly bring up" anything. This is my thread and it's in the first post. And clearly we value different things in our Pokemon games. I don't give a shit about the Battle Tower and honestly forgot that was a thing in Crystal. I don't play Pokemon so much for the battles or to compete competitively or create the most min max party, or anything of that sort. I play it to roleplay in that universe. And, aside from the reasoning involving my sister above that I already explained (that you ignored, surprise), I don't see what's wrong with enjoying and commenting on a expansion of your roleplaying options in this series. I always remembered that being a feature it introduced that I enjoyed, even as a child, and I can guarantee I didn't have any need or desire to "virtue signal" then, just as I don't have any need or desire for it now. Just because you don't care about it or don't enjoy it, doesn't mean I can't.

Why do you care so much about this? Like to put things into perspective: a single line about enjoying being able to play as a girl in Pokemon (not anything that said the feature was revolutionary or life-changing) caused you to link it to two other recent topics I made and create a conspiracy about me having some some vague "agenda" in line with leftist thought. Oh no! Watch out for TDC! He's coming for you with open-ended discussion and virtue signaling video game features!! Do you have any idea how insane you look to anyone else other than you? I probably look insane for even attempting to engage with you. But I challenge you to go find every other topic I made on this board within the timeframe I've made the three topics we've been discussing. I can promise you, it's not just a few.
