I'd call it a must play for a Final Fantasy fan but you could easily dip your toes in the series with FFVII or FFX instead and go from there based on whetheryou like them. Chrono Trigger is what I'd call a must play (and I greatly prefer FFVI but CT just hits fundamentals like pacing better even if VI has a better cast and plot) --- No problem!
