FEATURED RIVALRY #14:

Sheldon Cooper vs. Wil Wheaton

"Well, well, well! If it isn't Wil Wheaton. The Green Goblin to my Spider-Man; the Pope Paulo V to my Galileo; the Internet Explorer to my Firefox." -Sheldon Cooper

"Let me start by stating a partially controversial opinion: The Big Bang Theory is one of the best --if not the best-- TV sitcom of all time. The only thing that make me wonder if it really is the best or not is the fact that the series should've ended way sooner, since the last few seasons became a little bit more dull, removed the appeal of the extremely witty humor, and focused more on cheesy jokes with the girls (Penny, Amy, and Bernadette) and lacked the overall charm it originally had. Even then, it was still a very good show.

The greatest rivalry in the show was the one protagonized by these two guys. Leslie Winkle had some protagonism with Sheldon at the beginning (where did she end up, anyway? She disappeared from the show without further notice...), but she doesn't come nearly as close as the hate Sheldon earned for Wheaton.

It started with a personal grudge where Sheldon wanted Wil to give time back, since Sheldon looked up to him as a kid, but Wil tossed him aside. Later on, Wil deceives Sheldon in the finals of a card game, fooling him in order to grant Wil the victory. Since then, things only got worse between the two.

At last, it got a great resolution imo, since Wil later sincerely apologized by giving Sheldon an action figure, and they went on to being friends. The rivalry was still a sight to behold every time they got on screen, though." -Advokaiser
