Why is that the alternative? I can think of a few alternate possibilities
1) He's informed about the KBurrito but doesn't feel like he knows enough to make a statement.

A man who is incredibly opinionated on things he has absolutely no knowledge of holding his tongue? Color me surprised. Also, is his prep for these events so bad that they didn't throw in "You might get asked about this QAnon thing, so here it what it is and what you should say about it?"

Nah. Doesn't make him look good either way.

2) He hasn't figured out how to use the KBurrito to his advantage yet.
3) He's waiting for a time when he can use what he says about the the KBurrito to distract his opponents from his actions.

Possible.

4) He's already distracting his opponents by getting them to talk about how he doesn't know about the KBurrito instead of talking about something else.

I mean he's under a lot of scrutiny. I can buy him throwing as much garbage as possible to confuse the issue, but I doubt anyone is hyperfocused on this. It's just another quirk about him that solidifies some less than flattering conceptions about him.
