Well my problem with the Final Fantasy series is that I'm no longer the target demographic. I play JRPGs, not action games (I didn't grow up with action games like many others did).

While I guess the franchise has kinda evolved with me, where I was a JRPG fan but now I'm more into action/ARPG titles, I'm also not all that keen on longer games especially ones for non-portable consoles so it still misses the mark for me.

Man, I really REALLY don't like how the newest pokemon game has hidden fees attached in order to properly play it or use certain features.

Like there a sale for the base game right now, where it's only $40, so I thought, "now's a good time to buy it!"

But then you have to consider that you need a Nintendo Online subscription to trade pokemon and have online battles so add $20 to that.

Then you also need a Pokemon Home subscription if you want to use all of your past pokemon, so add another $16 to that.

Finally, there's the Season Pass to consider if you truly want to get all the newest pokemon and the full gameplay/story experience so you gotta fork over another $30.

That's over $100 for ONE game, and that's WITH a sale!

Say what you will about how bad Sun and Moon was, but at least you got the full game once you bought it right then and there.

Just wanted to rant a little I guess. Looks like I won't be playing anymore pokemon for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, all of the infrastructure nonsense is fucking annoying (since now it requires paid online) which has been a major turnoff across all games for me and one reason why Steam started to look attractive (ie, no fucking fees on top of everything else). And that alone was a pain, not to mention all of the other shit you need to buy to enjoy basic features and then, on top of it, paid expansions. I had been tempted to wait to see if they'd a GOTY edition collecting everything which, considering I've barely played SwSh, I probably should have just done.

SM was actually pretty good, other than some unskippable (?) cutscenes and having too many story scenes. The new Pokemon selection was surprisingly good, the format offered a minor twist on the usual gameplay, and I liked the new characters. I was kinda iffy on Z-Moves, though...

Wait, is the trading system there tied into servers or do the 3DS games still have local wireless trading? It just hit me that trading might be disabled when the servers go offline.

also, I had to unignore zeus to even see this topic, and that's not okay. which is why I imagine hardly anyone else has shown up here yet.

You ignoring me when it should be the other way around is silly, Helly, as is you going on a long rant about not making tons of alts then making a new one >_>

Otherwise there are were only a few people in the anime topic who had me ignored, so I'm not sure how big of an impact it would actually have. Actually it's possible that you're the only topic regular who routinely ignores me.
