So if you don't care the slightest bit about Star Wars and just want a fun space action movie that you can stop caring about 15 minutes after the movie ends, its fine. Its got a lot of stupid fan service moments trying to pander that you won't get, but it didn't work with any of the fans either so who cares.

As the final movie in the ST, its terrible, since it basically tries to crap all over everything episode 8 tried to set up. and Episode 7 didn't establish enough things to have an enjoyable follow up. Same idea if you consider it the actual end of the "Skywalker saga".

Add the countless stories of studio interference, there's very little that you should be hopeful for going in. And this is coming from someone who really liked both episode 7 and episode 8.
