I want the long version.

Dude....you asked for it.

So yeah, I woke up today and just felt blah, needed to go do SOMETHING to just get out of my freaking room. It was rainy, overcast and foggy all at once. Only thing that kept it from being the absolute worst conditions was the time (Still daytime) and no snow on the ground.

Anyway I decided to go try Chipotle (that was a disaster but that is another story), and while out get some OJ from trader joes and ground beef and lamb from safeway (on sale). I drove into town but the line at Trader Joe's was freaking insane, and I was like, not even. I dumped off my garbage in one of the containers (I have to bring my garbage into town because the roomates use up all the space in the containers here) and headed to safeway.

Got there and realized I was a moron right away. The parking lot was crazy. Like, imagine someone designed a hell where you were trying to park continuously and never finding a space? That was the Safeway parking lot. I got lucky though and a car pulled out in front of me (there was nother car coming the other way, but they signaled me in), so it only took about 5 minutes for me to park. I realized then though, that the safeway was going to be FREAKING PACKED.

I was right. I headed in, and people were everywhere (At least they were all wearing masks). I went back got my hamburger meat and lamb, some more creamer for my tea, 2 things of non-pasturized OJ (muah they have it now, it's just twice as expensive as trader joes....so I would have saved $10 if I had waited in that 30+ minute line....it wasn't worth $10 to wait in the rain in a mask).

Anyway I head to check out (everything I got was in the back of the store), coming down the aisle on the far right where the veggies are and I see nothing strange from here, there is a line going back into every lane, but with social distancing that is fairly normal (Because you can only have 1 or 2 people before it goes into the aisle.).

I head to go down what I think is the self checkout lane and there is a line all the way back through the aisle there (who knows maybe it went further around a corner). I am like WTF, but then notice that it's actually the quick checkout line, not the self service line, so I'm like Phweew) I even say something to a person in the line about being glad that wasn't the self checkout line.

Except, when I go to the other side of the store where self checkout is, the line for EACH aisle (2 checkouts) is just as long. It generally takes a person twice as long at least to self checkout for some reason, andI was like, no freaking way. I'll just put this crap back before I wait through that.

But luckily, I remembered a trick I have used in the past, you can check stuff out at Starbucks as long as you don't have any produce or things that need to be weighed. I wasn't sure how long the line would be at starbucks, but I headed over. Luckily, there was just 1 chick there with 2 kids, who was already having her drink made. I chortled happily and got in line behind her. She was done in just a few minutes and BAM I ordered a grande Americano (used to be under $2, which is actually a pretty good deal as you get 3 shots for that, ask for water only up to the siren's eye, and then fill the rest with cream for a very yummy (and no longer super hot) drink. Now it was a bit over $3 for the same thing and you can't put your own cream in, or sugar!!).

Anyway I held up each item and he scanned it, then held up my safeway card, and finally payed with the machine. I was done (including getting my coffee, in less than 5 minutes. Oh I also bought a thing of bacon which was supposed to be on sale, but I noticed I did not get the $3 off on the receipt. I did not go back in to get a refund though because that place was crazy.

Backing out to leave was seriously dangerous. Luckily I'm super careful as a little girl was walking waaaaay behind her mother just as I was going to back out (she was shorter than my car hood and right behind it. I waiting long enough to see her (most people probably would have just run her over, her mother was REALLY not doing a good job with a girl that small).

I pulled out and headed home, visability was already crap, but was getting worse fast as the light started to fade, but I got back before it was too bad. Over all I got what I wanted (OJ + Good foods for a few days) but I will try HARD to remember not to go shopping on Friday-Sunday anymore. The lines are just too insane, there is no way to safely social distance at all, and parking etc is rediculous as well.

There that is the longer version. I did leave out voting along the way, my trip to Chipotle, getting a bit lost trying to get from the mall to Safeway and a few other things, but I don't think they would fit in 1 post so I was brief.
