After she loses fingers and a bunch of friends, and her lover runs off... I think both this video and you have missed a key point. The video says "Ellie has a miraculous flash back" and you say she "just decides" but that's not what happens. Ellie gets her fingers bitten off and starts drowning Abby. While drowning her she thinks of Joel playing the guitar. Why? Because she just had two of her fingers bitten off that she uses to play guitar. That tangible connection she had with her time with Joel is torn away, and I think that's what finally makes her realize how vicious this cycle is. The first thing she does when arriving back at the farm is attempt to play guitar, but struggles to do so. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
