A classic water ride that goes way back to 1981, where it was known as the Monster Plantation from then until 2008, Monster Mansion is the type of cozy experience that just makes me oh so nostalgic. I've never been to this one, but just these type of rides in general are the best, they remind me of Playland's Ye Olde Mill or Zombie Castle. Monster Mansion is significantly more detailed however, boasting over 100 animatronics and a realistic feeling with wallpaper and other set dressing that really makes you feel like you're going through this flooded adventure. Each monster is unique and the scenes transitioning from a mansion, to an Alice in Wonderland type trip fest, to the pitch black nightmare darkness of the marsh is great for mixing it up. You can probably go through this ride several times and still not notice everything it has to offer. It has incredible atmosphere all together and would scare many young riders (and adults!) One day I would love to experience it myself, but for now, the treacherous waters of the Monster Mansion remains at reach, still letting me appreciate the great design and effort that went into designing this memorable ride.
