It was my first time with the shield, and honestly I hate the shield, and was only playing with it for 20% darkness, trying to farm darkness. It was a terrible run, hated pretty much everything I found, only survived because I had a Charon thing to heal 10% of my health each room, and kept that on me most of the game (I like his keepsake). Didn't even notice any other upgrade. I only won because I decided to take a very cowardly approach to the last boss, spamming the Special from across the room...for like, probably 20 minutes straight. --- People who don't finish their sentences I'm a Castlevania superfan!
