Any time someone acts casually like that in a sci-fi movie, I tend to hate it. It just completely removes any tension from the scene for me. The only people I've seen who can pull it off are Joss Whedon (who still went too far in the MCU, but did it with Buffy) and James Gunn. That said, the "who talks first" one is the best of the three examples I gave, you're right in that. --- Not changing this sig until I decide to change this sig.
