Zam Wessel
Congratulations on being the first film character I had to look up. This is maybe the most nothing character with a name in the entire PT. Does she have a personality or motives? I don't know. She's notable mainly for being part of the most confusing assassination plotline in movie history.

Holdo Maneuver
Right after watching TLJ, I went to a Barnes and Noble. I was working at a table in the Starbucks when I overheard a barista talking to another barista. She said "sure, it made no sense, but it was the best part of the entire movie," and I instantly knew she was talking about this. She was right on both accounts. This makes no sense, but it's the only visually interesting thing in the entire movie. For a few seconds, the movie was, if nothing else, visually stimulating.

The reference to it in TRoS is comical, by the way. "Let's use a Holdo Maneuver," says Merry from Lord of the Rings. "No," says Poe, "We can't do that," and there's just no more explanation.

Hand Amputations
No joke, in a college English class, I once wrote an essay analyzing ugliness in Star Wars, and used Luke's hand amputation as a citation, saying that becoming physically scarred reflects his internal scarring from the Dark Side, or something like that.

Look, what do you want me to say? What can you even do with a sword besides cut things?

Lightsabers
The absolute defining sci-fi weapon (sorry, phasers). Lightsabers are the single coolest thing of all time. My sister, who once called Han Solo "that Star guy," knows what a lightsaber is. There's almost nothing I can even say about them. The perfect simplicity of the idea, the stark contrast of blue vs red to show good vs evil, it's all so masterfully done.

Jar-Jar Binks
I was like 21 when I realized that Jar-Jar is the only character in PM with a character arc. He's the only person who learns anything or who improves in any way. In a very real way, Jar-Jar is the main character of PM.

Look, we all know that Jar-Jar is the most annoying character of all time. He's somehow even worse in AotC, when he becomes at least partly responsible for Palpatine taking over the universe. Like, come on, man. Why is he even allowed to make these kinds of motions, and why would the Senate listen to someone who can't even pronounce his own name properly?
