The trick is that you can get maximum lives on literally the second enemy in 1-1, so my first several runs I did that, but eventually I was comfortable enough to skip it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NoT9MaA-Hhc Just make sure you stop short of 128 lives, otherwise your life counter wraps around to -127 and will cause a Game Over the next time you either die or finish a level. --- ...
