DAY 11: Paranormal Activity: Ghost Dimension

This movie has nothing to do with ghosts or dimensions.

With that out of the way, let's talk about the last entry in the Paranormal Activity franchise!

A new family moves into a home and then creepy stuff happens, but this time they have a fancy paranormal-seeing camera so we can see the demon and then the little girl is acting weird.

Yeah, this movie kind of sucks. So like... take Paranormal Activity, but then reveal what the demon looks like, and then it's a super generic demon when you see it, and before that it's just demonic poo gas. I mean, I guess it adds a little bit more when you can actively see what the demon is doing? I guess? But it defeats the whole purpose of the franchise because then it's like every horror movie ever, you know?

The story is extremely convoluted and they had to throw so many parts into this to try and get the conclusion and wrap up everything they could. It has like nothing to do with the movie before this at all. Like it's pretty stupid when you see what they want to convince you is going on. But they go into full on stupid horror at the end at least, and it almost seemed like a comedy horror before the last scene.

If we're operating under 2 and 4 being the worst, and 4 is better because the characters don't suck, let's say the characters are just as good as 4. And then you do end up with them trying something new and the plot, as stupid as it is, being slightly better. So we're looking at this being slightly better than 4. Let me give my full Paranormal Activity rating:

3 > 1 > 5 >>> 6 > 4 > 2

So... yeah. I can say I've seen the whole franchise now. It's... you know, it's there. It would've been a lot better if they had a more concise and less convoluted story, or they leaned into 5 where they looked at other paranormal stuff other than invisible spooky demon. But the franchise is really lacking.

For real though, there are no fucking ghosts in this movie. And there's no dimensions. Just time travel which I guess almost works.
